Custom Sconces & Frame for Collectable Display
A pair of wall sconces and frame commissioned for poppy display, by a return customer of the Yard. The Brief: "48cm tall poppies along with a certificate... one blank wall ready!"
Using reclaimed redwood, the sconces were shaped and smoothed by hand, then sealed with teak oil to protect the timber and highlight the stunning grain, to offer truly a unique set for display purposes.
At 50cm in height, the upper wedges on each sconce incorporate a small hole, to hold the poppy stems in place. The accompanying handmade frame, to fit an A5 certificate, detailing the authenticity and description of the poppies.
These pieces made up a custom order and prices will depend on specific detail/requirements.

Rosewood Custom Engraved Board
This board was created by hand using beautiful reclaimed timber. Commissioned as a wedding gift to their partner, the customer provided the image which was replicated by hand, engraved using pyrography. Easy grip grooves at the base and finished with food friendly Tung oil, which highlights the gorgeous grain and tones.

Custom Sconce for Collectable Display
After seeing a pair we had created previously, another customer got in touch to commission one as a gift - to hold an ornamental poppy.
*pictured: Mr RY used a piece of wire and a lily head - to represent the similar sized poppy*
Reclaimed scotch pine was used to create the upright/back and together with two pieces of Golden Chain (laburnum) brought together, shaped and smoothed by hand. The Golden Chain "wedges" incorporate small holes, to hold the flower stem in place. Sealed with teak oil to protect the timber and highlight the stunning grain, offering a unique display for the keepsake.
Dimensions: 48 tall 10cm wide, approx 14cm depth (from wall)
