"Embrace" Tea Light Candle Holder Set
This chunky pair started as one log (Laburnum Tree "Golden Chain"), with an almost definitive split - holding together by splinters! Mr RY gently teased the winding split, to divide into two. Gently smoothed, while clamped together in their original state, to retain the "embrace" and sealed in bees wax to highlight the stunning grain and colours in the timber - inside and out. Stunning "2 for 1" piece, offering multiple display options - together or as two candle light holders.

White Oak Antrim Coast Driftwood Tea Light Holder
Quercus alba, the white oak, is one of the pre-eminent hardwoods of eastern North America. It is a long-lived oak of the family Fagaceae, native to eastern North America and found from southern Quebec, west to eastern Minnesota and south to northern Florida and eastern Texas. Specimens have been documented to be over 450 years old and this particular piece bounced about the oceans until it reached the Antrim coast. From there it was rescued by Rekindled Yard, cleaned and dried over 4 months then smoothed and sanded to accentuate the shape. Finished in five coats of Mr RY's mix of lemon and danish oils, to show the outstanding beauty of this wood.

Hand Carved Spalted Ash Tea Light Holder
This began as a lonely log, recovered from the Antrim Coast.
Carving by hand, the existing natural twist was carefully accentuated to bring out the beauty of this piece. It was then sanded by hand to a very fine finish before being lathered in numerous coats of danish oil, to seal and highlight the stunning spalted grain.
